To
I am writing to all of you at this time to let you know that
I will no longer be covering
I started out as the first President of FOMAF (Friends of MTA Football) in 1997. I stayed in that post through the 2000 Season. Since then, I have continued to contribute to the best of my ability both on and off the field, emotionally and financially. It is my hope that I have been able to represent the “Best” as an Alumnus of Mt. Ararat and specifically my Class of 1980.
While I will miss the calling of the game and the friendships that entail the day of game activities, I will not miss having to stop for a quick cat nap at 11:45 PM in order to drive the last 7 miles home without falling asleep, the 6-8 hours of editing after working 10 hours on the water on a Monday (meaning I am getting to bed about 1 AM), not to mention the waking up at 2AM on a Tuesday morning, wondering if I got everything packed up for a Road game that takes place 3 days later.
While I could go into more, the space here is best suited to
tell you that YOU, the parents and the players who read this, are the ones who
make it work. If you make the choice just to ‘leave it to somebody else’, then
just be warned that the attitude you carry washes over many. This
Football program was built on the dreams of young men and women who
just wanted the chance to prove to those in SAD 75 who said it couldn’t
be done, that it could be. Unfortunately for said skeptics, they forgot about
the most important thing taught at
In closing, the entire broadcast crew of me, Jim Trusiani, Mykole Patterson, and Mike Schneider thank you for all of the wonderful compliments you have given us. It has been a pleasure to serve you and we, I, hope that someone else will step up and take the coverage one step further than we did and make it the best that it can be.
Be well and God Bless each of you.
Respectfully,
Carl E. Johnson
